Houston Polymer Clay Guild
Board meeting minutes
Saturday, November 17, 2007
The meeting began at 12:07 p.m. Present were: Bob Wiley – President,
Rebecca Wells-Stout – Vice-President, Ronalyn Hurley – Treasurer
and Membership Coordinator, Paula Kennedy – Secretary and Carmen
Anderson – Member-at-Large. Absent was Meg Marchiando.
Ronalyn gave the treasurer’s report. We currently have $6,448.42
in the bank. We are still awaiting reimbursement from the Houston
Arts Alliance for our expenses for the Bayou City Arts Festival.
Future meetings were discussed:
December: Holiday party and gift exchange. Members are to bring
a snack/appetizer and a craft supply item under $15 for the
gift exchange. Since people’s tastes vary, the gift exchange
item should not be a handmade item, but rather a clay supply,
tool, book, etc.
January: At the January meeting we will have a “free-cycle.”
Members may bring any craft item (not necessarily clay-related)
to recycle. Items are given away free to anyone who wants them.
You do not need to swap. All unclaimed items must be taken back
home. The demo for the January meeting will be short and will
utilize recycles materials.
February: Ronalyn volunteered to use her Michaels’ 50% coupon
to purchase a Makins pasta machine to be raffled off at the
February meeting.
Classes:
Lynne Ann Schwarzenberg, Nov. 10-11: Lynne’s class went well.
There were 13 attendees.
Sarajane Helm: She is coming to teach February 9 & 10, 2008.
One day will be “Making faces” ; the other class has not yet
been determined. Participants can sign up for one or both.
Donna Kato: Donna will teach a two-day workshop in April. Exact
dates and topics are to be determined.
The meeting adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Paula Kennedy, secretary
