Classes:
Barbara Banks and Kim Pajot have volunteered to teach a beginners class in July. Details to be announced.

Patricia has arranged for Laura Tabakman to teach a two-day workshop on October 4 & 5, 2008. The board decided that the registration will be as follows:
Members registering before 7/1/08 - $160
Members registering after 7/1/08 - $175
Non-members registering after 7/1/08 - $200

Maureen Carlson will be teaching a two-day workshop on February 7 & 8, 2009. Details to be announced.

Events:
“Feat of Clay” Shoe Exhibit: The exhibit has been installed in the artist’s hallway of the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC). Guild members are invited to the opening reception Friday, May 23, to talk with attendees about polymer clay.
Hands-On Houston: In conjunction with the shoe exhibit, HCPG will be the demonstrator for the Saturday, July 5 Hands-On Houston at HCCC. The guild has been asked to do something related to the shoes. We will probably have the kids make small “flip-flops” or another simple design. Help will be requested from the membership to staff the event.

Challenges:
The July challenge is “bugs.”

Retreat: It was decided that the board itself will make up the majority of the retreat committee with additional help solicited from the membership. A retreat planning meeting will be held at Rebecca’s house on Friday, May 30 at 4 p.m. with a pot-luck dinner.

The meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Paula Kennedy, secretary
