Houston Polymer Clay Guild
Board meeting minutes, Saturday, June 18, 2011
The meeting began at 12:10 p.m. Present were: Bob Wiley
– President, Betsy Fraser – Vice-President, Ronalyn Hurley – Acting Treasurer
and Membership Coordinator, Laura Liggett – Secretary, Patricia Daugherty
-- Education Coordinator, Milli Jewell – Publicity Coordinator, and Tabiatha
McKeever – Member-at-Large. Absent
was Paula Kennedy, Treasurer and Membership Coordinator.
Treasurer’s and Membership reports: Ronalyn reported that the
guild has $9016.74 in its account.
We have 49 paid members.
There are 10 people signed up for the Retreat.
Future meetings:
July: Lanette Holland –
foil transfer beads
Education Report: Because of the retreat this
fall, there are no other classes scheduled for this year.
Sarah Shriver will be our guest in the spring, dates to
be announced.
Milli has created a beginner’s class, that will be recurring and will be
held here in the fall.
Publicity Report: Bob will contact Glynna re:
sales outside on her shop. Milli is working on the October Sale.
The Manager of Hanson Galleries contacted Milli about a
show at his Gallery, Milli needs photos to be juried re any possible show.
Retreat: Publicity is on Facebook and at the Yahoo site.
Challenge for this Fall at the Retreat will be Vessels.
General Issues: Bob and Paula will be at the
gathering of the guilds in September.
Betsy will do a demo for the Bead Society in September.
A discussion of magazines in the library was held and it
was decided to continue to get Polymer Café and Step by Step Wire. Also to
have a discussion of the library in the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
