Education Report:Sandra McCaw’s class on April 10-11 will be held at the Houston Garden Center in Hermann Park. Twelve people have put down a deposit or paid in full for the class. Sandra is willing to take up to 23 students. Patricia will make arrangements for lunch to be catered from Jason’s Deli for those who would like.

Laurie Mika will be teaching August 14 & 15. Jill is available to host and hold the class at her home.

Judy Belcher is coming for a one-day class on Saturday, September 24. Jill is not available. Patricia will find a location for the class.

Patricia also brought up the library raffle whioch has not been held for several months. It was decided to put the raffle under the purview of the vice president since that person is responsible for the monthly meeting activities.

Events: Betsy’s beginning caning class is to be held next Saturday at Bayou Manor. She has four students signed up.

Bob has discussed the possibility of a guild trunk show with Beadaholique in north Houston. He will pursue the project further.

Future meetings:

February: Patricia will demo Skinner blend and the step blend needed for Sndra McCaw’s class.
March: Milli will demo backfilling
April: Paula will do the second half of her finishing demo – sanding, buffing, and findings.

Challenge: The April challenge will be “Skinner blends”. The board decided to amend the prize structure to: $25 cash for first place, $15 cash for second and a ribbon for third place.

Nominating Committee: All current board members are willing to return as 2010-2011 officers.

New Business: Tabiatha suggested that everyone on the board make a list of the guild materials/supplies that they have at home. A second list of personal items that are available for guild use would also be helpful.

The person doing the monthly demo needs to be sure the webmaster puts up information on the demo on the website.

Photos of the “Show and Tell” items at each meeting will be taken and put in the gallery on the Yahoo site.

Bob presented a draft of a “welcome and rules” letter to be emailed to members of the Yahoo group. He will modify it based on other board members’ comments and present a revised copy at the next meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 12:57 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Paula Kennedy, secretary
