Houston Polymer Clay Guild
Board meeting minutes, Saturday, April 16, 2011
The meeting began at 12:10 p.m. Present were: Bob Wiley – President,
Betsy Fraser – Vice-President, Ronalyn Hurley – Treasurer and Membership
Coordinator, Paula Kennedy – Secretary, Milli Jewell – Publicity Coordinator,
and Tabiatha McKeever – Member-at-Large. Absent was Patricia Daugherty --
Education Coordinator.
Treasurer’s and Membership reports: Ronalyn
reported that the guild has $8,084.87 in its account. We have 50 paid members.
Future meetings:
April: Dakotah
will give a demo on photographing your work.
The summer demos will be:
Milli –
faux leather
Laura
Liggett – flowers with fabric and liquid clay
Lanette
Holland – foil transfer beads
The order in which demos will be given has not yet been
determined.
Education Report: Because of the retreat this fall, there are no
other classes scheduled for this year.
Jemco has requested that someone teach a beginning
polymer clay class at their store. Bob will follow up with them.
Publicity Report: Milli will contact Glynna at Beadoholique to
confirm a date for a guild sale in October, preferably the second
Saturday. She will also ask
Antiques, Beads and Crafty People in Pearland about hosting a guild sale.
The guild has been asked to conduct a Hands-On-Houston activity at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft on
June 4.
Retreat: There
was a retreat meeting immediately prior to today’s board meeting. Plans are progressing on schedule.
Challenge: The challenge of matching randomly selected color
swatches will be judged at today’s general meeting.
Logo Contest: The
design submitted by Mary Alvarez was chosen as the winner. The final design was approved.
